I’m officially addicted to boxing!

I started my boxing PT sessions with Sam following an ankle injury meaning that I couldn’t run. I was desperate to get back to exercise that got my heart pumping, and when Sam suggested giving boxing a go, I jumped at it!

A few months down the line, I’m absolutely loving the sessions. Sam is a brilliant trainer who breaks down every move and makes training fun. After already doing Bags Bootcamp sessions for the past year (and loving them!), the PT sessions have made me fitter and stronger – I’ve lost weight and toned up too!

I’d recommend boxing training with Sam to everyone!

I was introduced to Bags Boot camp by a friend and having never been interested in doing boot camps I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it!

The early mornings are well worth the feeling of getting up and energised before starting your day and some of the sunrises we have seen plus the sea air beats any gym!

Sam is a great guy, he knows when to push you to your limit and when to let you have a breather and recover, plus all the other boot campers are really friendly and make every one feel welcome and the whole experience even more enjoyable. There is a real mix of abilities too, so you don’t feel intimidated if you haven’t exercised much before (like me!)

Sam also makes sure to switch the exercises up to ensure the sessions don’t get boring. They are tough, but the feeling you get afterwards is well worth it!

After a year of no exercise, I decided to sign up to Bags Bootcamp. With 2 young kids and working full time it’s hard to find the time but the early morning timetable is perfect! Everyone has been so welcoming and positive. Working out on the beach does wonders for your mental health as well as getting fit at the same time, highly recommend!

Bags Bootcamp – I’m officially hooked!
As a full-time working mum, it’s my early morning ‘me time’, before the madness of daily life begins.
A few weeks in, I can already feel the difference. Sam’s workouts are challenging, inclusive for all, and different every time – it keeps things interesting (and keeps you on your toes 😃).
Working out on the beach is amazing, and Sam and the lovely bootcamp group are all so welcoming and supportive; it’s the perfect way to start my day!

I have been attending Bags Bootcamp for just over 8 weeks now and I feel so much more healthier already! Sam is an excellent trainer and is passionate about his role. I especially appreciate the support I get to improve my technique as this means I get the most out of each session. I’m never made to feel silly if I struggle with an exercise. Sam’s approach to his clients is encouraging and supportive with a bit of humour thrown in for good measure.
The sessions are fun and challenging and they really set me up for the day.

At first I was worried an early start wouldn’t work for me but now I look forward to starting my day on the beach. The other attendees I have met have all been friendly and welcoming which makes such a difference as it means I feel comfortable coming back each week. There’s nothing quite like a bootcamp session on the beach to put you in a good mood for the day. Thank you Sam 🙂

10/10. I’m not much of a group activity person but was recommended Bags Bootcamp and thought I’d give it a go as the gym wasn’t working for me. I took the two week trial, attended every class and haven’t looked back. Everyone is lovely and welcoming and the classes are great. I feel stronger, fitter and am running further and more regularly than I was before and the motivation you get from being in the group is tenfold. Would recommend to anyone, any age, any fitness level as you can go at your own pace without being left behind. Thanks Sam!

I have been doing Bootcamp with Sam for over a year now and can honestly say that I love every session! I have noticeably improved my fitness and strength levels. No one session is the same…it’s challenging but fun! Sam is a superb trainer, acutely aware of any injuries but also not afraid to push us.

I’m about a month in to weekly kettlebells and women’s classes and have loved every session, amazed at how much Sam can get out of all of us in the space of an hour and can notice my strength and fitness improving already. Wouldn’t have thought I’d enjoy training on the beach in the rain but here we are! Highly recommend 🙌

There isn’t much more I can say about Bags Bootcamp and the amazing work that Sam does that hasn’t already been said.
From a personal perspective, I can honestly say that by attending the bootcamps and PT sessions with Sam (before joining the gang), it has changed my life in many ways. He has done wonders for me physically but also mentally. What can be better than working out in front of sunrises? I’m also more confident socially too, I talk to people that I’ve never met before which is something I couldn’t do before going to bootcamps.
I started with Sam around the end of October time and weighted 16st. I know weight around 14st and am in clothes that are two sizes smaller than I used to be.
I would fully recommend Bags Bootcamp to everyone and anyone I know.
Keep up the great work Sam, every single session is fun, well planned out and gives a great work out and set up for the day.

I like the way I am treated with respect in these sessions (as a tad older & less active than the other bootcampers!) I had not used kettlebells before and found it is an effective & fun way to improve fitness and strength, having a bit of a laugh at the same time 😀

About Bags Performance

I'm the founder of Bags Performance, delivering dynamic beach fitness sessions on Southend Beach since 2017 What started as a passion for training outdoors has grown into a thriving community built around kettlebells, circuits, team training, and high-energy group sessions by the sea.

Alongside my beach classes, I provide online coaching for runners, structured gym programmes, and one-to-one personal training tailored to individual goals. As a multi-marathon runner who regularly takes part in endurance and fitness events, I understand first-hand what it takes to build strength, resilience, and consistency.

Having trained hundreds of people over the years, my focus is simple: help people move better, get stronger, and feel part of something positive. Fitness isn't just about performance — it's about community, accountability, and enjoying the process.
